The Enoteca is our newly born Italian Wine Bar in the heart of Little Italy!
Open for lunch and dinner, we serve small plates and wine. The premise features an open kitchen, a stunning wine wall, a wine and food study corner, a room for private and corporate events and a wine tasting area with Enomatic tasting stations, the modern state-of-the-art wine serving system, made in Italy (Greve in Chianti), .
All our events and activities are highly educational in a casual and entertaining atmosphere at the Studio.
Wine courses, Seminars, as well as Cooking classes merge theory with hands-on activities, cooking and tasting in a professional wine and culinary studio.
The educational aspect of the business is enhanced by our wine and culinary tours of Italy (next one is scheduled for Oct. 2008) complemented by Italian language courses held on Saturdays, and geared to travelers and wine and food lovers.

What is an ENOTECA? (Read Eh-noh-TECK-a)
Literally: “place where wines are kept”.
While Enotecas in Rome and all over Italy do serve a wide range of Wines by the glass just like American Wine Bars, they differ in atmosphere, food and in the general attitude towards the wine and food experience.
They are generally very relaxed and casual in atmosphere and attitude. Foods served are generally simple and rustic, to complement the wines and enhance the conversation.
In Italy enotecas are the modern combination of wine store, wine cellar, and wine bar serving small portions, local ingredients, always accompanied with a glass of wine.
DiVino Wine Studio’s enoteca features an open kitchen, a stunning wall-to-wall wine cellar with space for more than 1,000 bottles, two fridges to keep sparkling and white wines at the perfect temperature, and a tasting corner with the unique Enomatic system, which allows the serving of twelve wines by the glass, in several different amounts.
What is a WINE STUDIO?
It is an innovative concept of dining by learning and learning by dining.
We consider ourselves a wine and food learning place with an open concept kitchen and an Italian enoteca.
What does DIVINO mean?
In Italian they are two words ‘di vino’, which literally translates to: ‘of/about wine’.
For example: ‘Oggi parliamo di vino’ = Today we talk about wine’
Also ‘divino’ means ‘divine’, which reflects the idea of the beauty and supernatural effects of a good meal paired with the perfect glass of wine!
Are you open for walk-ins for lunch and dinner?
Lunch: Monday to Sunday we are open for group bookings, private and corporate events.
Dinner: Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30pm to 11:00pm
Guests have three seating areas to choose from:
Enoteca, the main seating area surrounded by wines and books
Cucina, the kitchen seating area overlooking the kitchen action
Scuola, the classroom, which is a smaller, private room
Is it possible to book the Studio for private events?
Yes. Seven days a week.
Choices are:
- book both Enoteca and Cucina, the main seating area with the open kitchen that can accommodate private and corporate events and cooking demos for up to 40 people.
- book the Scuola, the private room that can be utilized for smaller parties or business meetings (8 to 16 people).
Do you have A/V equipment available?
Yes, in all rooms there is projector, screen, DVD player and all the necessary connections for your laptop presentations or for an informal slide show.
Do you have Internet connection?
Yes, wireless.
Are there security cameras in the premises?
Yes, the 24-hour recording monitoring system is installed mainly to protect the wines and library that are located in the open main seating area.
Where are you located?
We are located at 225 Preston Street, in the heart of Little Italy, Ottawa’s trendy Italian neighbourhood so talked about in the news lately. You can find us on the East side of Preston St., north of the Queensway, in between Sala San Marco Banquet Hall and Vasto Italian clothing store.
Do you have parking?
Guests can park on Preston Street (meters) or on the adjacent roads (for free). After 5pm on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays parking is always free.
What kind of food do you serve and how often does the menu change?
We are an Italian wine-focused establishment serving exclusive modern, Italian enoteca food, consisting in a number of small plates, cheeses, cured meats, and a few entrees. Patrons will find the famous Enoteca menu, featuring our signature antipasti plates, and the Lavagna, the blackboard menu that changes every day, depending on what's best and freshly available.
When are you open?
Dinner: Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30pm to 11:00pm
Breakfast and Lunch available only to groups and meetings: daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm
Room and/or kitchen rental: 7 days a week
What are your closing days?
Sundays and Mondays.
However, any room at the Studio can be booked any day (including Sundays and Mondays) for private and corporate events and parties.
What is the chef's name?
Arleigh Martin. Arleigh grew up in Canada where she matured a long experience in commercial kitchens. Arleigh’s desire of excelling in cooking is very evident:

How long have you been open?
We started to operate DiVino Wine Studio Inc. in 2005 by running wine and culinary events in different prestigious locations in Ottawa, such the Chelsea Club. The premise on Preston St. opened in May 2008.
Do you take reservations?
Yes. If groups are 12 or larger, please call to plan the menu in advance: platters or table d'hote.
What about private parties?
We frequently host parties from casual to formal; seated dinners or lunches, or standing receptions. It is also possible to rent the entire Studio for private events. Please contact studio coordinator Maria Amalia Garza Mon-Fri, 10-4, for pricing, menus and availability.
For groups larger than 50 people, we highly recommend our adjacent banquet hall ‘Sala San Marco’. Venetian owner Gina and her staff will take excellent care of your needs for the perfect event.
Can I organize a wine tasting for my group of friends or clients?
Yes. You can do it or you can let us do it! Organize a private wine class for your group, with one of our Sommeliers as your personal wine educator and your guide!
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, in any amount. Call 613-221-9760 or email us at info@divinowinestudio.com. We can mail gift certificates with gift cards and menus for your convenience.
We also sell 'wine tasting cards', a very unique idea for a gift certificate.
What is your dress code?
We don't have a dress code, but the usual is dressy casual.
Can the chef do tasting menus?
Yes, please let us know in advance if you are interested.
Are there vegetarian or vegan dishes?
Yes, normally to order. The chef makes every effort to accommodate all dietary restrictions. Advance notice when making a reservation is most helpful.
Can we bring our own bottle of wine?
Only for special prebooked events with groups requiring this service. A corkage fee is applied and negotiable from time to time.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express.
Are you wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Please note there are ramps in the hallways, to the classroom, and to the washroom. We'd love to assist you in any way possible.

GENERAL RULES for courses, cooking classes, and seminars
Location
Unless otherwise indicated, courses and seminars are held at DiVino Wine Studio and Wine Bar on 225 Preston St.
Food Allergies
We cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment. Please let us know in advance if you have any concerns, in order for us to be able to make the proper arrangements.
Requirements
• Registrants to educational activities involving use and consumption of alcohol, must be at least 19 years of age
• Out of courtesy toward the other participants, please avoid wearing strong perfumes, which interfere with the bouquets of wine and the flavours of food.
Cancellation Refund Policy
All classes, courses, seminars and some special events must be booked in advance as well as paid in full. If you cannot attend an event, you can send someone in your place.
The cancellation policy is as such:
• 1 week prior to the start of your class, there is 100% refund. An administrative charge of 15% of the event fee will apply.
• There is no refund if cancellation is made after this pre-course period.
If DiVino Wine Studio will ever have to cancel a class due to insufficient registration or unforeseen circumstances, registrants will be notified and provided with a complete refund.
