María Amalia Garza is an avid cook and food explorer. Trained in Mexico, María Amalia's passion is to teach cooking, especially when it comes to the food of her beloved homeland. It is all about sharing her culture - and that is best done through food... perhaps a deliciously spicy mole? and to drink, an aged, aromatic tequila with lots of conversation!
María Amalia loves showing her students what it's like to cook the way it's traditionally done in the Mexican home, remaining faithful to the techniques and methods used there for hundreds of years.
María Amalia currently owns and operates The Cultural Kitchen, one of the most successful cooking schools in Ottawa.
You can also find her behind the scenes at DiVino Wine Studio, taking care of the coordination of courses and events.
