Sommelier-In-Training:

Sommelier-In-Training program at DiVino Wine Studio
Starting September 2008

Our establishment continues to offer a unique (and first in Ottawa!) program to train junior sommeliers in wine and beverage service and customer service in a real work environment.

Requirements:
- Enrollment in or completion of a sommelier training program
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry is an asset

What we offer:
- A three-month hands-on training program with an experienced sommelier
- An in-house wine course on Italian wine and regional food pairings
- Possible opportunities to taste wine and food items for training purposes

What we require from the applicants:
This is a volunteer-based program that will require:
- Professionalism and dedication
- One or two evening shifts a week (starting and ending times are flexible)
- Some free time to study Italian wines on your own
- Lots of passion…!

At the end of the training period, you will receive an evaluation and a certificate that you can use as an asset to work in other establishments. There is also the possibility of being hired on a part-time basis or becoming part of the full-time staff at DiVino Wine Studio and perhaps training other sommeliers!

This is how it works:
- Apply by sending an email and resume to Antonio Mauriello at antonio@divinowinestudio.com, or call 613-221-9760.
- You will receive a call or an email to schedule an interview with Antonio and/or with another senior Sommelier on staff
- For the interview, dress is business casual. Bring a paper copy of your resume and your school marks (just a list of your grades) for the courses you have taken to date.
